Hawaii GET Filing

GET, done right and on time, every period.

GET is a tax on your business, owed on almost everything you take in, whether you added it to the invoice or not. Letter: GET Is Not a Sales Tax.

With Premium monthly bookkeeping I review and file your GET for each filing period, and the yearly return, the G-49, at year end. I file from reconciled books, so the income on your return is the income in your bank.

How often you file

It depends on how much GET you pay in a year: twice a year at $2,000 or less, every quarter at $4,000 or less, every month above that. Each return is due on the 20th of the month after the period ends.

Before the money's gone

The easiest habit is to set GET aside the day a customer pays you. If you add GET to your invoices, the GET Pass-On Calculator shows the most you can add.

Your island

The hotel and vacation rental taxes differ by county. The island pages have each one.

Questions

Can I keep filing it myself?

Yes. If GET is in your agreement, just tell me before you file anything, so we don't both file.

My last returns may be wrong. Can you fix them?

Amending past returns isn't part of a cleanup. I can show you what the books say, and your CPA handles the amendment.

Not sure your last GET return matched your books?

It costs nothing to find out where your books stand.

I go through your QuickBooks and show you what I find, whether or not you hire me. If your books are clean enough, I'll also show you a few quick moves that could put more money in your pocket.
